An Introduction From CSAE's New President & CEO, Tracy Folkes Hanson
Member Profile -- Rick Nickelchok, Chair Networking Committee, Member Content Committee
My passion for volunteering with the CSAE family and the Not-For-Profit (NFP) community comes from my 30+ years of experience in organization leadership employed in amateur sport, health, and academic sectors. My broader knowledge of the NFP sector comes from being intimately engaged in association leadership positions at the national, provincial and local levels, in both staff and volunteer capacities.
Recently, I have ventured over to the "spark" side (as in, to ignite the fire) of association management with the launch of my own consulting firm called Board Matters Consulting (BMC). I know that associations face organizational challenges and I believe that with a focus on best practices, an in-depth understanding the situation and through building personal relationships these challenges can be solved.

These days it feels like nearly everyone is using the internet for nearly everything. But recent research from the Pew Research Center finds that more than half of American adults hesitate to embrace digital learning. How can associations help? A recent WBT Systems post suggests that associations can help members bridge the digital readiness gap, in part because organizations invest a lot of time and money to provide online learning resources.
Follow the Leader: Be the Leader Everyone Wants to Follow
In elementary school, teachers usually designate a "leader" who the class follows throughout the day whenever they leave the classroom to go to recess, the cafeteria and other daily activities.
4 Things You Need to Know About B2B Buying Decisions
If you think it's hard to sell, you might want to spare a thought for your potential customers: depending on which research you look at, the majority (around 2-in-3) of their buying decision processes end with them deciding to do nothing at all, and sticking with the status quo.
